I have long believed consistent Investing is equal parts:

• Focus on the Best opportunities in Markets (a strong OFFENSE).

• Avoid crowded/classic Traps (a strong DEFENSE).

For me, Defense gets the edge:

• Protecting against losses is more important.

• “The deeper the hole, the harder it is to climb out…” (a 20% loss needs a 25% gain to recover, for example).

As Bear Bryant once said, “Offense wins games… but Defense wins championships.”
