The NYSE Christmas tree has been a downtown New York tradition since 1923, and is one of New York City’s oldest. The first tree was lit to celebrate the completion of Wall Street’s electrical grid, a significant milestone at the time. The tradition grew from a small local event to a major NYC holiday fixture on Broad Street, older than the famous Rockefeller Center tree.
